What to Expect

The Internet can be a valuable tool for your business, especially when a designer is willing to work with you closely and really determine your needs. These are the steps I follow in developing a site for a client:

  1. Determine requirements - This is a fancy way of saying "you talk, I listen". I let you tell me what you want your site to be, and what you want it to do for your business.
  2. Basic layout and solution proposal - After determining your requirements, your expectations, and your budget, I sketch out a basic layout, and determine the most appropriate platform for your business (see "active vs. static sites"). You then get the chance to see how well my ideas fit your business.
  3. Agreement on layout and functionality (and ongoing costs!) - Before proceeding to construct your site, I'll make sure you're aware of any ongoing costs it will take to maintain your site, and get your agreement on design.
  4. Site construction - ...and of course, you'll be able to review the work as it goes on.
  5. Sign-off & commissioning - the exciting part: your new site is launched!
  6. Follow-up & "aftercare" - My reputation is built on my work, and this is perhaps the most important part. Making sure your site continues to work properly is a key part of my commitment to my clients.
